This advanced course is designed to provide therapists with the specialized skills necessary to perform Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) on clients who have undergone various surgical procedures, including Liposuction, Tummy Tucks, Breast Surgeries (such as mastectomies), and Brazilian Buttock Lifts. Through comprehensive and in-depth instruction, therapists will gain a thorough understanding of these surgeries and the specific post-operative care techniques required.
Participants in this course will learn to develop and implement tailored treatment sequences and protocols for clients recovering from Liposuction, Breast Surgeries, Tummy Tucks, and Brazilian Butt Lifts. The course will cover essential aspects such as techniques, contraindications, risk factors, and protocols to ensure effective and safe post-surgical care.

This course is intended for certified manual lymph drainage therapists (certified through ACOLS or an equivalent organization) and certified lymphedema therapists who are seeking to expand their expertise in post-surgical care.
The ADVANCED MLD -POST PLASTIC SURGERY course is available in three formats: In-Person, Hybrid, or Online Live Webinar.
In-Person Format: Complete a home study before attending the entire course over three days.
Hybrid Format: Complete parts 1 & 2 online before attending the in-person session on day 2 to complete part 3 of your training.
Online Live Webinar Format: Complete a home study before attending the course online via webinar, taught by an ACOLS instructor over five consecutive days.
The tuition for this course is $1,100.00.
Continuing Education Credits (CEUs)
Upon successful completion of this course and passing of the exams, students will receive a certificate of completion as a Certified Plastic Surgery Therapist (CPST).
This course offers 28 Contact Hours. CEUs are available, but requirements vary by state and profession. Please contact our Admissions Department for detailed information on CEU approvals. The Academy of Lymphatic Studies is an approved provider for the AOTA, NCBTMB, and various state professional boards. Please call for details.
