This 1.5-day course is a nice combination of lectures and demonstrations, as well as hands-on tape application techniques and practice.
Course Objective
Course participant will be introduced to the applications of elastic tape into their therapy practice. They will learn basic anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system, the history and therapy behind elastic taping and the indications and contraindications of using elastic tape. Then participants will have actual hands-on practice applying the elastic tape, learning the proper application techniques. Participants will also learn how to use elastic taping in the treatment of lymphedema as well as other application uses. After completion of this 2-day course, participants will be able to use elastic taping application for the treatment of head and neck, upper and lower extremity lymphedema, truncal edema as well as breast edema. All elastic tape applications will be demonstrated prior to practice.

Basic anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system
History and theory of elastic tape
Functions and properties of elastic tape
Principles of tape applications: cuts, tension, application and removal
Indications and contraindications for the application of elastic tape
Application of elastic taping techniques for lymphatic correction of swelling and soft tissue mobility
The use of elastic taping in lymphedema management
Tape application for scar management
Tape application for fascia and fibrosis correction
Brief review of exercise effects on fluid movement
Tuition
The tuition of this course is $345.00. We offer an Alumni discount of 10%. Financing options and payment plans are available if needed.
Duration
This course is 2 days in length (12 contact hours). The classroom hours are 8:00am – 3:30pm on the first day and 8:00am - 3:00pm on the last day. There will be approximately one hour for lunch every day.
Continuing Education Credits (CEU's)
This course is 12 Contact Hours. CEU's are available. Each state and profession is different, so please contact our Admissions Department for more detailed information regarding CEU approvals.
